A New Perspective On Wedding Night Sex

The wedding bells have rung, the bouquet has been tossed, and the cake was cut. Now what? Every couple has a picture perfect image of what their wedding night is going to be like. The groom is going to whisk the bride away from the reception and carry her across the threshold to a candle lit room with rose petals scattered across the bed and Barry White playing in the background.

But is that really what it's like?
For some, yes, the wedding night is a magical moment that you will always remember. You will be able to fall in love all over again every time you think back to your first night as a married couple. For others however, it doesn't quite go that way. For some couples the night may end in pure exhaustion. This one day may have just taken a year of planning, maybe more. Perhaps it was full of laughing, crying, and the occasional disagreement. Neither party got a good night's sleep the night before due to excitement, nervousness, and anticipation for the big day. Then, you wake up extra early and your adrenaline immediately kicks in. Both the bride and groom have multiple tasks and activities to do before the wedding.

Then finally, you tie the knot; but now, there's a night full of dancing, laughter, and mingling. Once the guests finally go home, there's nothing you would rather do than fall into bed and dream of your future together, not having the famous wedding night sex. That's okay and one scenario.


Others use the "I do" and that special kiss at the end of the ceremony as a symbol to finally relax and let loose. You get to the reception and start to socialize, drink, and dance. As you celebrate, every toast is finished with a sip of champagne, the beers are cold and crisp, and the shots are going down smoothly. As the reception comes to a close you realize you're just a little too drunk to be closing out this joyous occasion with sex. Again, that's another scenario and still okay.

So, how do you still make your wedding night memorable even without the sex? In the end, no one will ever know what you did on your wedding night, that's why it is yours. Do whatever makes the two of you happy. Enjoy your excitement about officially having the rest of your lives together. Focus on the fact that it is your first night in the next chapter of your life -- after all, it's the marriage that's really important, the wedding is just a ceremony and party -- and that for the rest of the chapters you'll have a partner in crime. But no matter what, make your wedding night your own.

If you want the wedding night sex, realize that a little planning is in order. Don't become overwhelmed by the multiple tasks you wake up to the morning of your wedding day. Instead, utilize your wedding party to help you out. If you can afford it, get a wedding planner to take care of those last minute details. Don't worry about the little things, odds are they will fall into place or people won't notice. Plus, they will just stress you out and, in the end, become stressors that you don't need on your special day. Once you're at the reception, try not to become overwhelmed by the amount of guests you think you have to entertain. You don't have to! You may have paid thousands of dollars for a DJ/band, alcohol, a good venue with good food and plenty of dance space. Not to mention the time you spent on configuring a seating chart so that your guests could eat with people they know and like. Let your spent time and money entertain them. On a side note, you should be able to enjoy what your money paid for as well! If you're really worried about seeing all the guests, be sure to visit the elderly guests you may not see on the dance floor; the other guests will most likely make it a point to find you.


Now, the cameras are off, the guests have gone home, and it's just the two of you. There is no need to have to pose or act a certain way. You have no pressure or expectations for what you do on your wedding night, except your own. If you've taken the advice given above and you are energetic and sober enough to enjoy sex, then by all means do it! However, if you do find yourself being tired or too drunk, just be real with one another. Laugh about moments you may have had in your past and imagine what it's going to be like in the future. Share your likes and dislikes with one another, maybe even plan on doing some of those likes the next morning when you're both well rested and sober. In reality, your wedding night is only one night of many thousands. You might have that mind-blowing sex you thought you'd have on your wedding night or you might not. Either way, enjoy the day; but never forget that what's really important is your life together as a couple -- a team -- hopefully for the rest of your lives!

This will let you know how much you can afford to spend on each favor. It is important to include tax, shipping, gift wrapping and all other incidentals in this per favor price. Another way to set a budget for the favors is to begin searching around for favors and seek out estimates on favors which you find appealing. This will help you determine how much you want to spend on each favor to give your guests a favor you think is appropriate. Once you have this number you can multiply it by the number of guests you plan on having at the reception. If you can afford this amount you can plan on purchasing favors in this price range. However, if the total amount is more than you planned to spend you might have to consider less expensive favors.

If you plan on having a large wedding reception with a number of guests there are ways to make buying wedding favors more affordable. One way to do this is to seek out distributors who offer reduced pricing for bulk orders. Contact the distributor directly to ask about these cost breaks because they may not advertise them directly on their website or in their advertisements.

Miles was a brief boyfriend blip on the reality love radar. We blinked and we didn't miss him. The wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys was the old Kris Humphries but it didn't last. This season Kim asked sister Khloe to remove all pics of her old boyfriends from the mantel, to which Khloe replied, "who can keep up?!"

"The Bodyguard"

Shengo was a gorgeous Aussie that Kim's mom flew in to guard her body. We all had slight Whitney Houston - Kevin Kostner flashbacks and it wasn't meat to be. Shengo had to fly back home unexpectedly leaving Kim teary eyed and ready to meet and marry her main squeeze, Kris.

And that's how it all went down.

Okay dolls, Kim and Kris' two-part reality TV wedding special will air on E! Sunday, October 9th at 8 p.m. and Monday, October 10th at 9 p.m. The actual nuptials are Saturday, August 20th. We love love.

3 Reasons Kim Kardashian's Wedding Deserves Ridicule

Kim Kardashian's wedding is finally over, which is a big relief until you realize that the hype will start all over again when her four-hour wedding special airs inOctober. The Morning After: Kris Humphries Looks Like a Jerk

"Keeping Up With The Kardashians" fans might question Kim's judgment after seeing her hubby's behavior on the episode of the show that aired after their big day. Khloe Kardashian revealed that Humph (we'll call him that to avoid any confusion with Kris Jenner) once asked her if Kim's butt was the real deal. He also annoyed Khloe by asking if her marriage to Lamar was real or just for TV, and criticized Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick for not being affectionate enough. Worst of all, he made Kimmy cry when he threw her into the water during their Bora Bora vacation, making her lose a diamond earring (ladies, let this be a lesson to you -- leave your $75,000 earrings behind when going swimming in the ocean). And next week we learn that Humph had no idea that Kim's been married before (wonder if he knows about the sex tape?).

Tara Reid says her Greek wedding wasn't real

Tara Reid can't be trusted!

The "American Pie" actress and notorious party girl, 35, admitted to TMZ photographers on Monday at LAX airport her recent marriage was never real. In August, Reid had a quickie wedding to Bulgarian financier Zack Kehayov in the Greek Isles.

After tweeting about her engagement, hours later Reid tweeted a picture of her all white wedding on the island of Santorini, saying, "Just got married in Greece I love being a wife!"

Since August, Reid frequently tweeted messages of love and posted pictures of her relationship, always referring to Kehayov as her "husband."

But when paparazzi caught up with the actress after her flight yesterday and asked if she and her husband could win the "Newlywed Game," an exhausted looking Reid said they "were never really married" because they never legalized their union in the United States.

The so-called wedding has fueled confusion ever since Reid's initial announcement. Right before her supposed wedding to Kehayov, Reid's reps stated she married Danish businessman Michael Lillelund, who denied the wedding, insisting he hadn't spoken to Reid in months. Reid had two other previous engagements, one with internet entrepreneur Michael Axtmann and TV personality Carson Daly.

These favors may not be the most romantic but they are much more likely to be appreciated by your guests than more whimsical items such as figurines and potpourri. This article will offer a few tips for practical wedding favors you can give to your guests on your wedding day.

Coasters are one idea for wedding favors which can be romantic or suit the theme of your wedding but can also be very practical. You can purchase coasters in a variety of shapes including hearts to provide for your guests as wedding favors. Heart shaped coasters will be ideal because they are romantic and convey the sentiment of love but they are also something your guests can really use. Another option for using coasters as wedding favors is to give out coasters which match the theme of the wedding. For example you can purchase coasters with pictures of sand or the beach to go with a beach themed wedding. You can also give out coasters with room for the guest to insert a picture. You can include a picture of the bride and the groom in one of the coasters and leave the rest of the coasters in the set blank so your guests can use their own photos if they wish.

Key chains are another example of wedding favors which can be both romantic and practical. Hearth shaped key chains or key chains in the shape of wedding bells or other items related to love or wedding are a good idea for favors. With so many uses for candles it is no surprise that if you give your wedding guests candles as a favor, they are likely to use the candles in the future as opposed to setting them aside and forgetting about them which might happen with other less practical favors.

Wine charms in a shape such as hearts or another romantic theme are also very practical favor ideas for a wedding. Wine charms by themselves are somewhat romantic but when they are designed in shapes such as hearts, wedding bells or other romantic shapes they are very appropriate for a wedding. They are also a very practical favor idea because many people will not have this type of item but can really use a set of wine charms. Wine charms are simply small charms which can be placed on the wine glass to distinguish one glass from another. This is useful in a party situation where guests may be mingling and may set there glass down for a minute or two while chatting and then become confused about which glass is theirs. Charms which distinguish the glasses help to eliminate this problem.

The question of whether or not you have to give wedding favors to your guests is a very common one. However, there is no easy answer to this question. While it is true that you technically are not required to give your guests any type of wedding favor at your wedding, it is also true that your guests will likely be expecting to receive a favor. This is what makes the matter more complicated. You may not be obligated to give out wedding favors but your guests may be offended if you decide not to do so. This article will take a look at the question of whether or not you have to give wedding favors to your guests and will provide some tips for giving out wedding favors on even the tightest budget.

As we discussed in the opening paragraph, wedding favors are in no way obligatory but that does not mean that guests still do not expect to receive a wedding favor when they attend a wedding. There are a couple of reasons for this. One of the most obvious reasons why guests expect to receive a wedding favor is that it is such a common practice that the majority of the weddings they have attended in the past have included a wedding favor. The other reason why guests expect to receive a wedding favor is that the purpose of a wedding favor is for the couple to express their gratitude to the guests for attending the wedding and reception. Although the couple will likely still send out thank you cards to all of the guests after the wedding, giving a small wedding favor is another way the couple can thank their guests for their support.

You may wonder why a couple would consider not giving wedding favors at their wedding. In most cases the simple answer to this question is that the couple is on a very tight budget and feels as though purchasing wedding favors for each of the guests will put them over budget. This is a very valid concern as it is important to remember that although wedding favors may be fairly inexpensive, this unit price must be multiplied by the number of guests in attendance. For example you may select a favor which costs only $2 per favor but you may be expecting 400 guests at your wedding. This means the costs of the favors alone will be $800 which may not even include the costs associated with shipping or wrapping the wedding favors. While we certainly understand the importance of budgets we believe the couple should incorporate a budget for wedding favors into their overall budget before the planning begins. This will help to ensure there is enough money available to give each guest a wedding favor as a token of gratitude.

When the couple is concerned about budget it is important to remember that wedding favors do not need to be expensive or extravagant. One simple way to make wedding favors more affordable is to give a wedding favor of a single flower to each guest. If you are already planning to have floral centerpieces you can discuss your options with your florist beforehand. You will likely be able to negotiate and affordable price for this favor because you are already purchasing your centerpieces from the florist. Selecting one flower used in the centerpiece and having your florist supply enough of these to give as favors is a really nice way to tie the centerpieces and the favors together. Alternately you might want to give each of your guests an artificial version of one of the flowers used in your centerpiece. These can be rather inexpensive and can also serve as a lasting reminder of your wedding.

Another way to keep wedding favors more affordable is to discuss your options with wedding favor distributors carefully. Many of them likely have closeout items available as well as discount items. Closeout items are items which have been discontinued but the distributor may have enough in stock for all of the guests at your wedding. Additionally, they may be willing to offer you a discount if you are purchasing a large number of favors.
